Properties:
- Astringent
- Anti-inflammatory
- Antiseptic
Traditional Uses:
- Effective astringent for conditions such as diarrhea and dysentery
- Decoction can be used as a gargle for tonsillitis, laryngitis, and pharyngitis
- Can be applied as an enema to assist in treating hemorrhoids
- Helpful as a douche for leucorrhea
- Useful for skin infections, bruises, and rashes
Directions for Use:
- Decoction: Put 1 teaspoon of bark in 1 cup of cold water. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10-15 minutes. Strain and drink three times per day.
Safety Precautions:
- Do not use for constipation
- Do not use if pregnant or lactating
- Consult with a medical practitioner before use
